HP Unveils EliteBook Ultra and OmniBook X Copilot+ AI PCs for Pre-Order in India

In a landmark move, HP has become the first company to launch Snapdragon X series-powered Copilot+ laptops in India. Following their global debut, HP India introduced the EliteBook Ultra and OmniBook X on Wednesday, targeting both business and retail customers.

These new laptops, powered by the Snapdragon X Elite processor and based on ARM architecture, promise enhanced performance and power efficiency over traditional x86-powered Windows PCs.

The HP EliteBook Ultra, aimed at enterprises, is priced at Rs 1,69,934. Meanwhile, the HP OmniBook X, designed for retail consumers, costs Rs 1,39,999. Both models are available for pre-order from today through various offline and online channels, with shipments expected to start in four to six weeks.

Each laptop boasts a 14-inch touchscreen with a 2.2K resolution, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of internal storage. They also feature a 5 MP web camera supporting Windows Hello face unlock.

Dubbed the “next-gen AI PCs,” these laptops offer on-device generative AI capabilities powered by the Hexagon NPU, capable of handling up to 45 trillion operations per second (TOPS). This includes features like Paint Cocreator and the upcoming Recall, or photographic memory technology. Additional AI enhancements such as Spotlight and Auto Framing are also included.

HP asserts that both the EliteBook Ultra and OmniBook X can deliver up to 26 hours of battery life during video playback. These models are part of HP’s commitment to sustainability, being included in the world’s most sustainable PC portfolio. Running the latest version of Windows 11 optimized for ARM, they support native ARM apps and can emulate legacy x86 applications.

This launch follows Microsoft’s announcement in May, in partnership with Qualcomm, of over 20 new Copilot+ branded PCs. Currently, only Snapdragon X series-powered PCs, like the EliteBook Ultra and OmniBook X, bear the Copilot+ label due to their specialized hardware enabling advanced on-device AI experiences.
